Summer Theatre Camp!

It's time to sign up for Theatre Camp for the summer! Kenai Performers will be holding our Summer in the Playhouse during the month of June.

 

Two camps are offered:
**one camp is for kids coming out of first grade through sixth grade - This camp meets weekdays from 9 AM to Noon, and runs four weeks beginning on Tuesday, May 27 through their show, which will be performed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 20, 21 and 22.

**the other camp is for kids coming out of sixth grade through 12th grade -This camp meets weekdays from 1-4 PM, and runs four weeks beginning on Monday, June 2 through their show, which will be performed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 27, 28 and 29

 

Both camps meet and perform at the Playhouse in Kenai, and include experiences in all aspects of theatre from sets, costumes, makeup, tech, and all stage craft to acting, singing, dancing and writing. Each camp will create its own musical out of a story the campers choose and develop together.

 

The fee for each camper is $400 for the four-week camp. This includes tuition for classes(four paid staff members), a camp t shirt, dance shoes provided if necessary (to be kept by Kenai Performers for future use),and a comp ticket for the camp show. We will have a table at the Playhouse Garage Sale, May 16 and 17 for registration and questions, or send registration forms and check to Kenai Performers PO Box 914 Kenai, AK 99611, or register and pay online at www.kenaiperformers.org.

 

We will keep camp numbers to 25, so early registration is suggested.

 

We will be hiring a choreographer, a director's aid, and a backstage coordinator for each camp to work with campers on learning aspects of stagecraft and performance. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact me (Carol Ford) before May 1. 776-8308, or, if I'm not home, 398-0756, or email me. I will be going out of town on May 4, so I need to have heard from you before I go. PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE MAY 1! That's only one week, so get right on it if you're interested in being hired to work the camp this year.
