For over 30 years, Kenai Performers have been entertaining the Central
Kenai Peninsula!
In the 1960s, the school gymnasiums were home to musicals, comedies
and fantastic dance performances attended by an appreciative audience
from all parts of the peninsula!
In the 1970s, major musicals and shows were staged
by a band of actors, musicians, dancers and technical wizards who gathered
from Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and everywhere in between. When that community
took its story, The Ballad of the Kenai, to the competition in
Haines, it was so enthusiastically received that it went on to win second
place in the National competition.
In the 80s and 90s, Kenai Performers continued to offer the
Peninsula entertainment.
For the last few years, Kenai Performers have provided winter
excitement by bringing back the Big Musicals - Hello Dolly! Fiddler
on the Roof! Music Man! Sound of Music! The Wiz! - and we have also
introduced non-musical dinner theatre with shows such as The Foreigner
and You Can't Take It With you.
Thank you for your support in responding to our community's
growing delight in the arts!
