DRAMA CAMP
Kenai Performers offers a summer drama camp experience where young people have the opportunity to take part in acting, musical theater (song & dance), and technical theater (stage crew, design & construction). Our camp is production-based and gives students a well-rounded theatrical experience from the very beginnings of the rehearsal process to the performance in a fully produced show with lights, sound effects, music, sets, and costumes.
Throughout the drama camp experience, students will not only focus on theater and technical arts, but they will explore and hone their skills in:
-
creativity and imagination
-
self-confidence
-
cooperation and collaboration
-
problem-solving
-
trust, empathy, and compassion
-
communication skills
-
aesthetic appreciation
Whether you’re an experienced performer looking to hone your theater arts skills or someone who wants to try acting/musical theater/technical theater for the first time--our camp is perfect for you.
The Kenai Performers' Summer Drama Camp is for ages 9-17. We meet Monday-Friday, 10 am-1:30 pm in our theatre space, located at 44045 Kalifornsky Beach Rd. (backside of Subway Restaurant). Students are asked to bring their own water bottle labeled with their name and a light snack to each day of camp. The focus of camp is on musical theatre with two live, public performances on Friday, June 28th at 6:30 pm and Friday, June 29th at 2 pm, 2024. Our camp director is Mrs. Terri Burdick.
